The American Academy of Pediatrics
The American Academy of Pediatrics elected Dr. McEachern as a Fellow on September 1, 1996. Fellowship is the highest honor available to pediatricians in the academy. The AAP is a consistent presence advocating the health and well-being of all of our children.
You can perform tremendous research on virtually any question you have by checking out http://www.aap.org. This is a terrific source for information for you and your children on the web. Dr. McEachern is excited to carry the designation of Fellow, American Academy of Pediatrics (F.A.A.P.)
The American Board of Pediatrics
Dr. McEachern has been board certified in pediatrics since 1995. He has also successfully completed recertification and enjoys continuing his medical education through lectures and publications. A vigorous instructor, he also relishes teaching medical students and residents, receiving the Outstanding Preceptor Award from the University of Virginia’s School of Medicine as well as faculty appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics. He has also has prepared nurse practitioner candidates for graduation from Marymount and George Mason Universities through direct clinical instruction. You can learn more about the American Board of Pediatrics at http://www.abp.org.
“Top Pediatricians in America”
Dr. McEachern is tickled to have been recognized as one of America’s best pediatricians in "Healthcare Today" magazine. This selection was made by the Consumers’ Research Council of America, which is surprisingly devoid of any of his family members or close friends.
National Republican Congressional Committee, Physicians’ Advisory Board
Although Dr. McEachern adamantly refuses to register with any political party, he accepted a gracious invitation to serve as a representative to this board in 2003 and 2004. There are so many issues surrounding the absurdities in our health care system, it is certain that this site would crash under the weight of such discussions.
Amerigroup (Now known as INTotal Health), Physicians' Advisory Board
Dr. McEachern was selected by Amerigroup Insurance to serve on its physicians' advisory board in 2012. Amerigroup serves patients in our medicaid population in the Commonwealth.
The Clumber Spaniel Club of America
Dr. McEachern is the proud owner of a majestic Clumber Spaniel who is named Shatner. Let’s face it, being a member of the Clumber Spaniel Club of America has nothing to do with medicine, but it makes him really cool. Embrace your envy, it’s a healthy reaction. Shatner won all kinds of awards as a puppy, but he has a slight bite issue that kept him out of Westminster. This example gives you the ammunition to remind your kids to brush and floss regularly. Dr. McEachern also adores his wee Scottish Terrier, Mr. Brodie, who he and his wife rescued a few years back. Brodie and Shatner are inseparable buddies, a lesson for us all.
